Meet the team onboard with Island Breeze. Making you feel at home onboard are our Diving Instructor and Captain Larry, and our dive-loving Bookings Manager Zoe.
Welcome onboard! We have local expert Dive Masters onboard our liveaboards and day charters, so you can enjoy guided dives around the best and most unique sites along the Costa Blanca coast. They will be your advisors on all things diving and equipment. You may also learn a little about sailing!
Meet the team onboard – Captain Larry!
Often found eating bananas and chilling in the shade, Larry loves being at sea, and beneath it. Our Dutch Captain became a sailor and scuba diver 10 years ago, so he could enjoy the water from above and below. He has worked in the Caribbean, Indonesia and Egypt, and couldn’t resist returning for the sea to feel the breeze in the sails.
His love of scuba diving took him traveling around the world, and his love of boats made him decide to run liveaboards, sailing and diving trips in Spain. Not a bad place to spend your days.
Larry has many skills and hobbies apart from sailing and diving. He actually ran a bar for 10 years, toured Europe and the US as a pianist in a band, is an electrician, a palm tree enthusiast, an engineer, and even did some time at fashion school. So, we never know what he will do next…
He is a qualified Scuba Dive Instructor, and has taught in Bonaire, Mexico, Thailand, Egypt, Indonesia, and Netherlands. He speaks Dutch, English, German and Spanish with a funny accent.
His favourite dive spots are in Bonaire, and the amazing cenotes in Mexico.
He is a safe pair of piano playing hands to sail you along the coast, and also mixes a decent cocktail at the end of the day!
Meet the team onboard – it’s Zoe!
Also sometimes found in a wetsuit, she had her first mermaid experience in Sri Lanka in 2012 and decided she liked blowing bubbles and to spend her spare time traveling and diving.
She has worked in tourism in Europe for over 15 years and can advise you on hotels, restaurants, local highlights, and all things travel. After working in marketing for hostels, tour groups, and luxury hotels, Zoe met Larry in Egypt diving, and Larry suggested she tried running a boat, so she packed her fins and joined the Island Breeze team.
Her most memorable dives were with whale sharks in Mexico and the Maldives and the barracuda cyclones in Sipadan, Malaysian Borneo.
Zoe speaks English, Spanish, French and a little Italian. Good luck understanding her Dutch!
